Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

    My favorite thing about cold weather is heading to Starbucks for a Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. I only get about one/year because I don't like the $4 price tag! Thanks to Pinterest and Google you don't have to pay that much anymore! I read several recipes and decided to go for it! This is a mash-up of a few Pinterest recipes I saw.

 Ingredients:

 1 cup of milk
 1 and 1/2 packets of hot chocolate mix
 2 tsps caramel sauce (like you'd put on a sundae)
 Pinch of sea salt (to taste)
 whipped cream (optional)

 I'm finicky, I heat my milk in one cup and make the hot chocolate in the other. It dirties and extra mug but I find that it's easier to mix milk into the hot chocolate powder than the other way around.

 Heat the milk in the microwave until warmed to your preference.

 In your other mug add the hot chocolate mix, pinch of salt, and caramel sauce. When your milk is hot pour it over the mixture and stir. Add whipped cream, and if you're more graceful than I am you can drizzle some caramel on top. I knew that I would end up making a mess so I skipped that step!
